Cross-country skiing in the Saas Valley: classic and skating tips in Saas-Grund

The Saas Valley offers lovely cross-country trails around Saas-Grund, Saas-Almagell and Saas-Fee. Classic or skating – with the right equipment your day on the trails is even more fun.

Classic or skating?

In classic style you glide in tracks with a movement similar to walking – ideal for beginners and relaxed tours. Skating is more dynamic and resembles ice skating; it takes a bit more strength and technique but is fast and sporty.

The right equipment

Skis, boots and poles differ by technique. We rent cross-country equipment for classic and skating and are happy to advise you on what suits your level.
